RA Qualifying

February 4, 2009

Over the past weekend, Jan. 30-31, over one hundred students gathered to try out for the position of Resident Assistant (RA) for the 2009-2010 school year. On Friday, RA Applicants (RAAs) were divided into groups that they spent the next 24 hours in. During the weekend, RAAs were put into situations that tested their confrontation, communication and counseling skills. The applicants spent a lot of time getting to know the other applicants in their group as well as the Resident Director that oversaw the group. RAAs will now go through a week of on-the-hall training where they will assist current RAs with convocation, cleanliness checks, hall meeting and curfew checks. RAAs will be told in a few weeks if they made the final cut, and will immediately start planning for the 2009-2010 school year.
