Spritual Emphasis Week

January 28, 2009

The past week, January 21-23, evangelist Clayton King addressed the student body at LU for the bi-annual Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW). This is the fourth year in a row that King has visited the campus to be the main speaker for SEW. He spoke to the students during the Wednesday and Friday convocation services and then again for church on Wednesday and Thursday nights. King discussed many different topics throughout the three days. Some of the topics were about who God is, the need for urgency in the Church and having faith over fear. King gave an invitation for salvation before preaching on Thursday night. Several students came forward at that time, and many came to know the Lord throughout the week. Pam Wright, a Lynchburg resident said, “Clayton King is very compelling and helps us realize the urgency of the day we live in.”
